Shopify lets you assign granular permissions to staff members—improving both security and efficiency by ensuring they only see what they need.
Why This Matters
If a team member can’t install or approve apps, it’s usually due to their account permissions. Without the right access, recurring billing apps (even those with trial periods) can’t be activated—blocking essential tools.
Quick Setup: Enable App & Billing Access
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Users and permissions.
Select a staff member and scroll to the Apps and channels section.
Check “Manage and install apps and channels” to allow them to install or update apps.
Check “Approve app charges” so they can activate subscription-based apps.
Once both are enabled, your team member can install apps, approve requested permissions, and activate subscriptions with no hiccups.
