The Featured Blog Section allows you to showcase a selection of blog posts on your store's homepage or other key pages. This section is a great way to highlight your latest content, provide valuable insights to your customers, or promote specific topics related to your products and brand. By adding this section to your theme, you can draw attention to your blog and encourage visitors to read more.
Access the Theme Editor
Login to Shopify Admin:
Go to Online Store > Themes from your Shopify Admin.
Open Theme Customizer
Select the theme you want to modify and click Customize. This opens the Theme Editor where you can edit and add new sections to your store.
Add the Featured Blog Section
Choose the Page or Template
In the Theme Editor, select the page or template where you would like to add the Featured Blog Section. This could be the homepage, a custom page, or a specific template.
Click "Add Section"
On the left sidebar of the Theme Editor, click the Add Section button. A list of available sections will appear.
Select the Featured Blog Section
From the list of sections, choose the Featured Blog section and click Add. This will add the Featured Blog Section to the selected page or template.
Customize the Featured Blog Section Once the Featured Blog Section is added, you can start customizing it to fit your store's needs.
Select the Blog to Feature
Choose the blog you want to feature from a dropdown list of available blogs in your store. If you haven’t created a blog yet, go to Online Store > Blog Posts and create a blog before proceeding.
Choose Featured Posts
You can select which specific blog posts to feature within this section. Depending on the theme, you may be able to pick a set number of posts or highlight a few key articles based on recent or relevant content.
Configure Layout and Display Options
Number of Posts
You can choose how many blog posts you want to display in the section, typically ranging from 3 to 6 posts.
Display Style
Customize how the posts are displayed. You can choose between a grid layout, a list view, or a carousel slider based on your theme’s settings and your content preference.
Post Details
You may have the option to display the post title, excerpt (a brief description or preview of the content), and publish date. You can also decide if you want to include read more buttons or link directly to the full blog post.
Add Section Heading and Text
Customize the section’s heading to make it clear that this part of the page is dedicated to your blog. You can write something like “From Our Blog” or “Latest Articles.”
Adjust Alignment and Spacing
Control the alignment of the content (e.g., center, left, or right) within the section. You can also adjust the spacing between posts to create a visually appealing layout.
You might be able to control the padding and margins around the section to make it fit seamlessly with the rest of your page design.
Add a Background (Optional)
To make the Featured Blog Section stand out, you can add a background color, image, or gradient. This could help highlight the section and draw more attention to it on the page.
Preview the Changes After customizing the Featured Blog Section, preview the page to make sure everything looks as expected.
Desktop View
Check that the blog posts are displayed correctly and the layout looks good.
Mobile View
Since responsive design is crucial, make sure the section is displayed well on mobile devices. The posts should stack or adjust accordingly on smaller screens.
Save and Publish
After you’ve finished customizing the section and are satisfied with how it looks, click Save.
Once saved, the changes will be visible on the page you added the Featured Blog Section to. If you added it to the homepage or another prominent location, this will help drive traffic to your blog and keep your content visible to customers.
